Your Custom Tummy Tuck Treatment Plan

A tummy tuck is a body contouring surgery that removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen while tightening the underlying muscles for a flatter, firmer stomach. It is most commonly performed with liposuction for enhanced contouring but in appropriate patients can also be performed as a standalone procedure. A tummy tuck in Beverly Hills with Dr. Galanis can:

  • Tighten loose, sagging skin
  • Repair separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti)
  • Eliminate stubborn fat deposits
  • Reshape the waistline for a more balanced figure
  • Restore confidence in clothing, swimwear, and everyday life

Dr. Galanis offers a wide variety of advanced surgical techniques to help you take control of your body and confidence. Together, you may consider:

Mini Tummy Tuck

Best for patients with skin laxity confined to below the navel and no significant muscle separation

  • Incision: Requires a small, low incision hidden in the bikini line
  • Skin Removal: Targets excess skin exclusively below the belly button
  • Muscle Tightening: May include minor lower abdominal muscle repair
  • Belly Button: Stays in place (no repositioning needed)
  • Ideal for: Patients close to their goal weight with a small amount of excess skin

Hybrid Tummy Tuck

Best for patients with moderate skin laxity and muscle separation

  • Incision: Involves a slightly longer incision than a mini tuck, but shorter than a full tummy tuck
  • Skin Removal: Removes skin from the lower abdomen
  • Muscle Tightening: Includes full abdominal muscle repair from sternum to pubic area
  • Belly Button: Remains in place, preserving natural contours
  • Ideal for: Fit individuals with diastasis recti but minimal excess skin

Traditional (Full) Tummy Tuck

Best for patients with loose skin, stubborn fat, and muscle separation

  • Incision: A hip-to-hip incision placed low on the bikini line for discreet healing
  • Skin Removal: Removes excess skin above and below the belly button
  • Muscle Tightening: Repairs full abdominal muscles for a flatter core
  • Belly Button: Repositioned for natural-looking results
  • Ideal for: Post-pregnancy or post-weight loss patients with significant skin laxity

Extended Tummy Tuck

Best for patients with excess skin and fat that extends beyond the front abdomen

  • Incision: Extends beyond the hips to sculpt the flanks and waistline
  • Skin Removal: Addresses larger areas of sagging skin
  • Muscle Tightening: Full abdominal wall repair for core strength and posture improvement
  • Belly Button: Repositioned for proportionate, natural contours
  • Ideal for: Patients who have lost a significant amount of weight or had multiple pregnancies

Combining Procedures for Enhanced Results

For patients who have stubborn fat deposits along with loose skin, Dr. Galanis may recommend combining a tummy tuck with liposuction for even more refined results. Liposuction removes localized fat, sculpting the waistline, flanks, and abdomen for smooth, balanced body contours.

Tummy tucks are also a core part of Mommy Makeovers, helping restore a pre-pregnancy figure by tightening the stomach while lifting and reshaping the breasts.
