Renuvion uses helium plasma and radiofrequency energy to tighten loose skin from beneath the surface, without the incisions or downtime of traditional skin-removal surgery. At Galanis Plastic Surgery, Dr. Charles Galanis offers Renuvion skin tightening in Beverly Hills to firm and refine the body's contours for men and women alike.
What Is Renuvion?
Renuvion is a minimally invasive technology that converts helium gas into plasma using radiofrequency energy, then delivers that energy beneath the skin through a thin cannula. The radiofrequency energy heats the helium to a point where it contracts the skin and underlying tissue almost instantly, and the treated area cools back to baseline in under a second, limiting how much heat reaches the upper layers of skin, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. The result is immediate tissue contraction, followed by ongoing collagen remodeling over the following months.
Unlike surface-level tightening devices, Renuvion works from underneath the skin. That subdermal approach is why the American Society of Plastic Surgeons has described Renuvion as one of the more notable recent innovations in skin tightening, used either on its own or alongside other body contouring procedures.
